How do I export from Google Authenticator?

  1. Open Google Authenticator on your phone
  2. Tap the menu (⋯) or your profile icon
  3. Select Transfer accounts Export accounts
  4. Choose the accounts you want to export
  5. A QR code will appear — scan it with the tool above, or take a screenshot and upload it

Is this transfer safe?

Yes. The QR code is decoded entirely in your browser using JavaScript. No data is sent to any server. Your secret keys never leave your device. You can verify this by checking the network tab in your browser's developer tools.

Will my accounts still work in Google Authenticator?

Yes. Importing to 2FAA copies your secrets — it does not remove them from Google Authenticator. Both apps will generate identical codes. You can safely keep both until you're comfortable switching.

Supported formats

This tool supports the Google Authenticator export format (otpauth-migration:// protocol). It can import TOTP and HOTP accounts with SHA1, SHA256, or SHA512 algorithms, and 6 or 8 digit codes.
