How to Enable 2FA on Roblox
Roblox accounts are a common target for scams because of Robux and rare items. Turning on 2-step verification with an authenticator app makes account takeover almost impossible without your phone or 2FAA browser.

Step-by-step: 2FA setup on Roblox
- 1
Open Roblox account settings
On https://www.roblox.com, click the gear icon at the top right and choose 'Settings'.
- 2
Open the Security tab
Click 'Security' in the left sidebar. You'll see options including '2 Step Verification'.
- 3
Enable Authenticator App
Toggle on '2 Step Verification' and choose 'Authenticator App'. Roblox shows a QR code and a manual entry key.
- 4
Scan with 2FAA
Open 2FAA, scan the QR code (or paste the key). A 6-digit code starts cycling — this is your Roblox 2FA code.
- 5
Verify with the current code
Type the active 6-digit code from 2FAA into Roblox and click 'Enable'. 2FA is now on for your account.
Generate Roblox 2FA codes with 2FAA
You don't need a separate authenticator app. 2FAA is a free, browser-based TOTP generator — your secret never leaves your device, and it works offline as a PWA. The same secret can be used in parallel with Google Authenticator or Authy if you prefer redundancy.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use 2FAA instead of Google Authenticator on Roblox?
Yes — Roblox follows the standard TOTP spec (RFC 6238), so any TOTP app generates valid codes. 2FAA runs in your browser, no app store install needed.
Is the Roblox authenticator the same as Google Authenticator?
Roblox doesn't have its own authenticator app — it relies on any third-party TOTP authenticator. 2FAA, Google Authenticator, and Authy are all compatible.
I lost my authenticator — can I still log in to Roblox?
Use one of the backup recovery codes Roblox provided when you turned on 2FA. If those are also lost, you'll need to verify identity with Roblox Support.
